CELESTRON C6R 6” F8 1200MM FL ACHROMAT ASTRONOMY TELESCOPE OTA

Better than average optically and excellent cosmetically, a Celestron C6R 6” f8 1200mm focal length achromat astronomy telescope OTA (optical tube assembly) with rings, Vixen-spec dovetail, collimatible cell, 2” Crayford single speed focuser with 1.25” adapter and caps for both ends. No eyepieces, diagonal or finderscope included but are available.

This was my personal large refractor but I recently got a SkyWatcher 150ED Evostar so off this one goes.

Much better image quality than the average achromat and less than normal fringe color with this example, why I kept and used it so long and only replaced it with an ED scope.

Glass and coatings fine, no issues, very clear. Focuser body and lens cell collimated but that’s something you should check once in a while and before use when it has traveled any distance.

Note this is a BIG (49.5” long) and HEAVY (19lb as shown, likely to be around 22lbs or more once your finderscope, diagonal and eyepiece are attached) so you will need a substantial mount to use this.

$450, price firm for now, thought I'd offer it semi-locally before posting it on Astromart or taking it to the Golden State Star Party in early July.

Cash only unless you have astro stuff of interest to me towards a trade. Local pickup/meetup in the Chico/Redding/Oroville area only, I won't ship this, however I do occasionally take a trip to the Bay Area, a meetup can be arranged.

Use the CL email system to reply, put "Celestron C6R" in the subject line and the same along with your name in the body of your reply or it will be ignored.
Tom

PS: I have been involved in amateur astronomy and dealing in astronomy equipment on a casual basis for 16 years, have had literally hundreds of scopes, mounts, eyepieces and accessories. Point is this is not just a garage sale find being flipped, this is being sold by a knowledgeable and experienced seller that has tested and used the equipment offered for sale.
