Office Assistant (Grass Valley)

Nelson Systems is a small reseller of specialized industrial equipment imported from England. As office assistant your main function is to take care of administrative tasks and leverage my time so I can focus on sales, technical and management issues.

We work from my house in a quiet Grass Valley neighborhood. One room is set up as a full office. I prefer someone who lives in or near Grass Valley. Initially you would need to work mostly in the office, but much of the work can be done remotely after training. I do need someone who can work partly from home and is flexible in hours.

This is a part-time position: 3-4 days/week; about 8-12 hrs/week total.

I'm looking for someone with strong personal integrity and a strong work ethic, who is also a fast learner and doesn't need extensive training and close supervision. You must be flexible and willing to learn and help out in all areas.

Job Functions:

Assist in selling and supporting specialized instruments:
- Test/check in instruments
- Test/prepare instruments for shipping
- Prepare quotes, etc.
- Assist with sales/marketing
- Make updates to web site (WordPress/Elementor)

Use Microsoft Outlook to communicate with customers and internally
Use Microsoft Dynamics CRM to maintain customer database
Use Microsoft OneNote for notes and procedures
Keep paper files organized and current
Edit marketing documents with MS Word and Adobe Acrobat
Light banking - process checks and payments, make payments
Order office supplies & equipment
Maintain office equipment
Maintain neat, clean organized office environment

Required Skills & Experience:

3+ years office/administrative/secretarial experience
2+ years college
Strong general computer skills
Strong knowledge of Windows
Strong Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills
Strong speaking and writing skills
Good phone skills and manners

Desired Skills & Experience:

BS/BA
Microsoft CRM experience or training
Microsoft OneNote experience or training
WordPress experience or training
