Build quality is excellent. The three piece construction of the back is somewhat unique for this Taylor model and the figuring of the maple is beautiful as can be seen in the pictures. The sound is characteristic of this model's wood combination - balanced, with brightness and focus. The amplified sound is very versatile with the added benefit of a balanced XLR output to improve sound quality and onboard preamp controls for bass, treble, and volume. A 15' phono-XLR cable comes with the guitar.
The original TUSQ nut and saddle materials have been replaced by a professional luthier and upgraded to fossilized walrus tusk which added a noticeably better sound quality as a result. The original nut a saddle were saved and come with the instrument. The overall condition of this guitar is deemed as EXCELLENT, although, it could pass for "near mint" if not for two very minor dings on the top which don't really show up in photos. This guitar has been very well cared for - kept in its case when not in use, always humidified properly, and handled with respect. Comes with the original Taylor quality hard shell case.
The pricing is fair market value. Similar brand new Taylor 614ce guitars sell for at least $1000 more. This is a great guitar for the price.
