1846 Map of Mexico & Guatemala by Samuel Augustus Mitchell. Includes sub maps of Guatemala and Valley of Mexico. Map measures 17 1/2" w x 13 1/2" height.

In great shape for age of the map, rear of map has spots reinforced with tape(see picture) Otherwise very clean!

Detailed map of Texas, Mexico and the Southwest.

The Austin's Colony appears prominently in Texas, along with Austin's Grant, Washington, Houston, Goliad and a number of other early settlements. The map also provides a fascinating look at the pre-Gold Rush Upper California, and nice details on the Great Spanish Trail and Salt Lake region. The map also shows many Indian Tribes located throughout the West.

Fremont's name now appears on the map (Fremont Lake) and the cartography reflects his travels in California. A huge Tule Lake appears on the map. A number of early towns are named (such as Pueblo de Los Angeles!), along with the California Missions. A marvelous early map of the region. From an early edition of Mitchell's Universal Atlas.
