For sale is a pair of bespoke tower speakers, designed and built by a renowned sound engineer. These speakers include dual Focal 15" woofers and custom ribbon mid/tweeters. They are 94db efficient. The ribbon drivers are virtually new, as are the crossovers. These were used in a dedicated listening room -- no smoke, kids, or pets, and were driven with very high quality amplification. The components are in excellent shape and the cabinets are in good shape, with only minor scuffs. The grill cloth is in excellent shape too.
A little about the ribbon drivers. The same man who was on the team that invented the famous Ohm AMT (Air Motion Transformer) left Ohm and developed the AVT (Air Velocity Transformer) before going to work at a very high end American Manufacturer. These drivers and these speakers were his pet project, and were sold in stores for $30K/pr. I'm asking for $6000.
They are all that. Many of my audiophile friends have heard these and said it is the best sound they've ever heard in a home stereo. I've run them with Krell, McIntosh, and now a pair of 100w/ch Margules tube monoblocks. These speakers just SING! A wide, balanced frequency response and a lifelike soundstage are probably their strongest characteristics. They are just so listenable; crisp, without being fatiguing. And the bass goes down forever. I absolutely love these speakers, but I'm moving and the new home doesn't have the space for them.
The downside is their size. They are huge, and need room to breath, as they are rear ported. My listening room is 17x23 and as you can see from the pics, they fit. The speakers are in good/great shape, with the drivers and crossovers being virtually new, as their builder/owner replaced and upgraded all the components before selling them to me.
Moving these will require a truck, blankets, and two people. I can help disassemble them and load them. Each speaker comes in 3 pieces and assembly is simple if you have a slight amount of competence.
Don't ask if they're available. Cash, Venmo, Zelle. Thanks for looking, and happy listening.
