Interested in Learning Amateur Radio

CLUB GENERAL MEETING: General meetings are held the 2nd Friday of the month at 7:30 pm and include a 10-minute session called "Tech-Ten", where a Club member gives a short talk on various topics of interest to Ham Radio. These sessions are always interesting and posted later to the W6EK YouTube™ Channel. See the W6EK Home page for the meeting place.

The last part of the meeting includes a half-hour “main presentation” where a Club member or visiting representative provides a more in-depth look at a particular subject of interest. These presentations are also posted to the W6EK YouTube™ Channel. See the W6EK Home page for upcoming topics.

For more information please check out our website: www.w5ek.org

SOCIAL INTERACTION: Of course, a Club meeting is a great place to interact with us, meet friends or make new ones, to learn about other activities, and to ask questions 1-on-1.

OPPORTUNITIES TO GET LICENSED

FCC EXAMS: We sponsor FCC license exams for all license classes. These sessions are hosted by volunteer examiners (VE’s) who are licensed by the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL). Exams start at 8 am, the first Saturday of every month at Raley's, 6845 Douglas Blvd., at the Northwest corner of Auburn Folsom Road and Douglas Blvd., Granite Bay. Sessions are held in the multi-purpose room in the back of the store. No appointment walk-ins are welcome.
