condition: excellent
These four parlor chairs are crafted from quartersawn oak. They are sturdy, comfortable, and beautiful, defined by a rounded shaped top rail that is wider than usual to feature tiger oak stippling, balanced to an upholstered back and large, comfortable stuffover seat. The arms are carved and contoured with Empire Style scrolls curled and rolled at the hand rest, which are held in place by sturdy uprights. It is solid white oak, with attractive tiger ray patterns. The back and seat are covered with a classic floral tapestry print. It has sturdy ring-turned front legs that are spindle tapered and finished with original brass caster inserts (casters currently removed but are included); and the back legs are square, tapered slightly outward and backswept for stability. The cross stretchers are ball and bobbin turned legs with a bulbous natural knot finial enhanced with tiger ray patterns.
