This antique balance beam type scale was pulled from an old lawyers office in San Jose about 4-5 years ago . I don't believe I have the skill or knowledge to properly
refinish it and would hate to screw it up , plus I don't have a good place to display it . For someone with experience should be fairly easy restoration
Very nicely made piece both front and back glass slide up to open , the front side has sash weights in the side columns but the twine is broken . Four screws will remove the top which allows side glass removal and access to sash weights .
As near as I can tell all glass is original no parts are missing from the scale . The case sits on 3 points , 2 are adjustable for leveling the case and then the base of the scale has adjustments for leveling the scale .
I've never been able to find a picture of this model on the internet . I can tell you that Christian Becker was incorporated on
February 18th 1915 and I'm pretty sure it's not a "Chainomatic Analytical scale"
It is about 27 1/4" wide x 12" deep x 20" tall . I'm asking $100 but open to offers , bring some packing material / blankets for transporting . I brought it home from SJ to Newark on the seat of my truck with only a couple rags to cushion it , it was a nerve racking trip . I'm in Grass Valley give me a call if you'd like to come take a look , make me an offer 51zero five one 2-3011
Thanks for looking if ad is up it's still for sale .
