This is a very rare opportunity to see/ own/experience Salvador DALI! DESCRIPTION: Salvador Dali (Spanish 1904-1989); "Benjamin" from The Twelve Tribes of Israel suite; original dry point with color by stencil on arches or BFK Rives paper; 19 x 24 inches; numbered in pencil lower left "68 / 195"; signature in pencil lower right "Dali" PROVENANCE: Special Edition Numbered “68 / 195”, ( BFK Rives Paper ) Publication was done in a total edition of 460 sets plus some proofs.

The 195 on BFK Rives paper is accompanied by text in English and Hebrew. The frontispiece depicts small images of the twelve tribes' symbols. The engraved drypoint printing plates - which were printed at Atelier Rigal in Paris - were canceled by having four holes drilled in each one. The color was added by stencil by the employees of J. J. J. Rigal.

The suite and the individual prints are illustrated and listed in both the Michler and Löpsinger Catalogue and the Albert Field Catalog of Dali prints.

Purchased by another individual from Weinstein Gallery, San Francisco in 2003.
Purchased by client in 2015.
FAIR MARKET VALUE: $6,500.00 (2018 appraisal in Santa Fe, New Mexico)

COMMENTARY and PROFESSIONAL OPINION: The Twelve Tribes of Israel Suite of thirteen prints is comprised of twelve original drypoints created by Salvador Dali and a frontispiece, also an original drypoint created by the artist. The suite was published in 1972 by Alex Rosenberg of Transworld Art in New York. This was appraised by a Dali Expert in 2018 for $6500.

I have extensively researched this piece and found a few other much higher-numbered editions online priced at $4,000-$5200. However, none of them had proper authentication paperwork or was this special edition, of the piece: “65 of 195” done on special Rives paper, making this edition extremely rare. The price reflects the special low edition number, as well as authentication by the Dali Expert Bernard Ewell.
Feel free to make an offer or reach out for any further questions, I would be delighted to answer them!

Thank you so much!
